March Resident Empowerment Event
Our monthly resident empowerment event took place on March 15th at our central office. Our residents were presented with a ton of useful information. In addition to our BHA resident services staff members being presenting information there were a number of local community partners as well present. Among those were Valerie Williams with Love Smart who discussed dating violence and the best way to see signs of a toxic and unhealthy relationships. Also in attendance was Dr. Colette Lee Lewis representing the Links Incorporated Brunswick chapter. The Brunswick (GA) chapter serves Camden, Glynn, and McIntosh counties, and is comprised of thirty-one professional and dynamic women who are leaders, role models, activists, and mentors. They work collectively toward a shared vision by engaging like-minded organizations and individuals for partnerships. Quinn Cousins was also in attendance virtually representing Aurinia pharmaceuticals discussing the health concerns associated with the Lupis disease and providing resources regarding it. Brunswick legend Coach Teresa Adams also stopped by to talk about her history and the history of the community as a whole. The event as a whole was very successful and received excellent feedback from the residents themselves.
